Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 13, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Grovio (“Grovio,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our website and app at grovio.org (the “Service”). By using Grovio, you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
- Account information — your name, email address, and password (passwords are stored securely by our authentication provider; we never see them in plain text). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from Google.
- Preferences — your weekly budget, goals, household size, preferred store, cooking skill, and foods/allergies you ask us to avoid.
- Usage content — the meal plans, grocery lists, and carts you generate and save.
- Payment information — handled entirely by our payment processor (Stripe). We do not store your card number.
- Technical data — basic device, browser, and log information, and cookies needed to keep you signed in.
How we use your information
- To create your meal plans, grocery lists, and carts.
- To personalize recommendations to your budget and goals.
- To operate your account, subscription, and billing.
- To secure, maintain, and improve the Service.
- To contact you about your account or important changes.
AI processing
To generate meal plans and dish photos, the inputs you provide (such as budget, goals, and dietary preferences) and meal names are sent to our AI providers solely to produce your results. We do not use your personal information to train third-party models.
Service providers we share with
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the processors that run Grovio:
- Supabase — authentication and database.
- AI providers (e.g. OpenRouter / model providers and Together AI) — meal-plan and image generation.
- Stripe — subscription payments.
- Hosting / infrastructure — to serve the app.
Cookies
We use only the cookies required to keep you signed in and the app working. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your saved plans at any time, and you can request deletion of your account and associated data (see your rights below).
Your rights
You can access and update your information in Settings, delete saved plans, and request a copy or deletion of your account data by emailing us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA.
Security
We use industry-standard measures (encryption in transit, managed authentication, and access controls) to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.
Children
Grovio is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll post the new version here and update the “Last updated” date above.
